Calculations
Everything you type into a calculator is processed entirely in your browser. Coordinates, bearings, distances, station numbers and level notes are never transmitted, never logged and never stored on any server. Closing the tab discards them. This is a property of how the site is built, not a promise about how it is operated: there is no endpoint that could receive them.
Local storage
A small number of preferences are kept in your own browser's local storage, and never leave it:
cogokit.theme- whether you chose the light or dark theme.cogokit.rc.appUserId- an anonymous purchase id, created only if you subscribe. It is not linked to your name or email by this site, and it is the access code shown on the Premium page.cogokit.accessCodeSaved- a flag recording that you confirmed you saved your access code, so the reminder stops appearing.cogokit.upsell.dismissed- a session-only flag recording that you dismissed the upgrade bar.
Clearing your browser's site data removes all of them. Clearing it also removes the anonymous purchase id, which is why the Premium page asks you to save your access code - it is how Premium is recovered afterwards.
Analytics
Aggregate traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint or track individual visitors across sites. It reports page views, referrers and country at the level of the site as a whole. No profile of you is built and nothing is sold.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by RevenueCat and Stripe. If you subscribe, your email address and payment details are handled by them under their own privacy policies and are never seen or stored by this site. What this site holds is the anonymous purchase id described above, in your browser, which is what tells the page whether your subscription is active.
If you want your subscription data deleted, cancel from the link in your receipt email and contact the payment processor named on that receipt; they hold the record, and this site does not.
Hosting
The site is served as static files from Cloudflare Pages. As with any web host, requests reach Cloudflare's edge network, which processes connection information such as IP address for the purpose of delivering the page and protecting the service.
Children
CogoKit is a professional and exam-preparation resource and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the change will be described on this page rather than slipped in silently. Questions about it can be raised through the same channel as a correction - see About.
